10th OF APRIL BOOK LAUNCH: FARMING THE CITY, USING FOOD AS A TOOL FOR TODAY’S URBANISATION

In the book FARMING THE CITY, USING FOOD AS A TOOL FOR TODAY'S URBANISATION, CITIES shares the knowledge and insights gathered during three years of local and global research into local food systems.

We are proud to present our brand new book FARMING THE CITY, USING FOOD AS A TOOL FOR TODAY’S URBANISATION  the 10th of April at Pakhuis de Zwijger, Amsterdam.

In the book FARMING THE CITY, USING FOOD AS A TOOL FOR TODAY’S URBANISATION, CITIES shares the knowledge and insights gathered during three years of local and global research into local food systems. The book brings together new thinking and case studies from pioneers and practitioners to investigate the impact of food initiatives and urban agriculture on our built environment, economic systems and community cohesion.

During the book launch, a full-on programme will be moderated by the guys of the Still City Project, which will guide Francesca and Mark through the book contents. Guests from Lufa Farms, Montreal, Canada;
 Culinary Misfits from Germany; and,
“Garden on Track” from Stockholm will join us via Skype conversations. To close this inspiring evening, we will capture the knowledge shared and lessons learned in a debate aimed at shaping a new Food Vision for the Municipality of Amsterdam. You can join us and share experience and insights with our international contributors, including Carolyn Steel and Dickson Despommier, who will be virtually kick-starting our debate.

It will be an evening of international inspiration and local action!
